Interoperability has always been a cornerstone of MEDITECH’s vision for healthcare IT. And through our partnership with CommonWell Health Alliance®, we’re pleased to be taking another large step for connectivity, by successfully deploying CommonWell interoperability services at Alliance Community Hospital (ACH) in Alliance, Ohio. As the first fully FHIR-enabled CommonWell member, MEDITECH is leveraging the Argonaut Project’s FHIR specifications to both supply and consume C-CDA documents. These interoperability services include patient enrollment capabilities and C-CDA exchange, opening the door for more comprehensive sharing of discrete segments of data in the future, such as medication and allergy data. The Argonaut Project's FHIR specifications work with the C-CDA exchange to provide near real-time access to participating patients’ data. Welcoming New Members, Deployment Strategies Key Themes at the 2017 CommonWell Annual General Meeting and Fall Summit

For the third year in a row, MEDITECH proudly hosted the CommonWell Health Alliance Annual General Meeting and Fall Summit last week at our Joanne Wood Conference Center in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The annual Member gathering provides a valuable opportunity to gather and reflect on the many achievements the Alliance and its members have attained throughout the year. Each year, I am impressed with the level of collaboration and unity across healthcare leaders to make nationwide interoperability a reality. It’s exciting to see the Alliance’s continued growth -- in just four years, the Alliance has grown from seven founding members primarily focused on acute and ambulatory EHRs to 70+ Contributor and General Members representing more than 20 care settings. MEDITECH Set to Deploy CommonWell Health Alliance Services to Customers

MEDITECH Among the First Members in the Alliance to deploy the Argonaut Project’s FHIR specifications to customers MEDITECH announced it is set to offer CommonWell interoperability services in early 2018. The deployment will enable healthcare organizations to exchange patient information seamlessly for improved patient care and quality outcomes. Advancing interoperability initiatives has always been a cornerstone of MEDITECH’s healthcare IT vision. We are proud to partner with CommonWell Health Alliance in providing MEDITECH customers access to the CommonWell network, enabling faster and simpler exchange of protected health data across the care continuum. CommonWell Annual General Meeting and Fall Summit Focuses on Lessons Learned, Expanding Nationwide Interoperability

Last week, CommonWell Health Alliance held its Annual General Meeting and Fall Summit at MEDITECH’s Foxborough, MA campus. MEDITECH, which joined CommonWell in April of this year, was honored to host the Summit and especially excited to welcome all the member attendees to our new, state-of-the-art Joanne Wood Conference Center and Auditorium. As a “newcomer,” it was evident to me right from the start that all CommonWell members, many of whom are direct competitors, checked their vendor agendas at the door. All participants were solely focused on directing their energy towards developing and executing strategies for supporting the Alliance’s mission to provide interoperability solutions at a reasonable cost to improve the quality and safety of patient care.
