Ardy Arianpour, CEO & Co-Founder of Seqster

Like many of you, I’ve seen first-hand the importance of high-quality data in solving complex clinical issues. The problem is getting that high-quality data in real-time.

I watched my parents, both cancer survivors, go through the angst of spending time, money and energy (energy they didn’t have to spare) trying to compile all of their clinical records so they could get the treatment they needed. In that moment, I knew I had to do more than just sit on the sidelines.

In 2016, I founded Seqster with the vision to tie genetic data to high-quality, real-world clinical data. Seqster is a real-time solution that takes disparate healthcare data and provides a 360-degree view of a patient’s health history.

Seqster helps providers engage their patients through a patient-centric platform that brings together all their health information and enables them to share it with their physician, care team, family members and caregivers. The collection of medical records and other health information becomes especially critical for patients with complex conditions who often have their health records and data scattered across various platforms in different locations nationwide. The Seqster platform can accelerate onboarding, diagnosis and treatment for these patients. In addition, patient outcomes can be tracked post-treatment and over the long-term, enabling adequate post-care follow-up for patients and operationalizing value-based care.

And now, as a CommonWell Health Alliance member and service adopter, we’re well on our way to transforming the way multi-dimensional health data is shared. Using the CommonWell Connected® Seqster platform, clients can connect and exchange health data bi-directionally with the more than 22,000 healthcare provider sites in the CommonWell nationwide network.

The timing of our certification as a CommonWell Service Adopter is also very timely, as the 21st Century Cures Act deadline for compliance is July 1. This legislation affects every healthcare organization with access to electronic health information by empowering patients and their caregivers with better access to and control of their health information.

My parents’ situation is not unique. I hear similar stories every day from patients and caregivers regarding the need for better coordinated care and access to health records.

With our connection to the CommonWell network, the Seqster platform is even better positioned to do what it does best—getting patients off the sidelines and truly empowering them to be at the center of their health and wellness journey.
