Welcome to our Newest CommonWell Members!

Five years ago next week, five companies announced at HIMSS13 that they were forming a new Alliance focused on breaking down barriers to sharing health data. CommonWell Health Alliance is now nearly 80 members strong with more than 20 care settings represented by our membership.

Our membership diversity continues to expand. Today, I am thrilled to share the newest General Members of the Alliance, which extends our membership diversity to new settings of care and provider organizations, including one of the largest health systems in the country. All are notable innovators in their respective fields.

Ascension
Ascension is a faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care. As the largest non-profit health system in the U.S. and the world’s largest Catholic health system, Ascension is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to all, with special attention to persons living in poverty and those most vulnerable. In FY2017, Ascension provided more than $1.8 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs. Ascension includes approximately 150,000 associates and 36,000 aligned providers. Ascension’s Healthcare Division operates 2,500 sites of care – including 141 hospitals and more than 30 senior living facilities – in 22 states and the District of Columbia, while its Solutions Division provides a variety of services and solutions including physician practice management, venture capital investing, investment management, biomedical engineering, facilities management, clinical care management, information services, risk management, and contracting through Ascension’s own group purchasing organization.

ELLKAY
As a nationwide leader in healthcare connectivity, ELLKAY has been committed to enabling interoperability for more than a decade. With connectivity to over 45,000 practices across over 600 EHR/PM systems, ELLKAY builds the data pipeline for hospitals, health systems, EHR/PM systems, payers, laboratories, HIEs, ACOs and other healthcare organizations. Specializing in extracting and converting clinical data from virtually any source EMR system, we are the healthcare industry’s “Data Plumbers.”

HNI Healthcare
HNI Healthcare capitalizes on proprietary, quality-driven software and deep medical and healthcare administration experience to strategically align stakeholders’ goals –hospital’s, practitioners’ and ours. The result is simple – measurably improved quality of care, operational efficiency, financial throughput, and patient outcomes.

Tiger Institute for Health Innovation
Tiger Institute for Health Innovation is working to improve the health of Missourians both within University of Missouri Health system and with partners throughout Missouri. Tiger Institute strives to connect health care providers with each other and with patients to improve quality, lower costs, and increase access for all Missourians.

When we were just five members, the Alliance looked like an EHR-only organization, but that was never the intent. Our membership now represents dozens of settings of care, and we are thrilled provider organizations are part of that growth.
