CommonWell Health Alliance Expands and Live with Interoperability Service Offering

February 23, 2014—CommonWell Health Alliance (the “Alliance”) – the health information technology (HIT) vendor-led interoperability effort – announced today that Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC), with 77 hospitals in 14 states, has signed a letter of intent to use the Alliance services. This comes two months after the announcement that participating providers from Chicago; Elkin and Henderson, NC; and Columbia, SC joined the initial launch of CommonWell’s interoperability services. CommonWell Health Alliance to Launch Initial Interoperability Service Offerings in Illinois, North Carolina and South Carolina

December 11, 2013—CommonWell Health Alliance (the “Alliance”) – the health information technology (HIT) vendor-led interoperability effort – announced today that Chicago, Illinois; Elkin and Henderson, North Carolina; and Columbia, South Carolina have been selected as participating regions for its first rollout of CommonWell’s interoperability services. Additional provider sites and geographies will be announced in the coming months. Some of the provider sites involved in this effort include Lake Shore Obstetrics & Gynecology (Chicago, IL), Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital (Elkin, NC), Maria Parham Medical Center (Henderson, NC), Midlands Orthopaedics (Columbia, SC), and Palmetto Health (Columbia, SC). CommonWell Health Alliance Welcomes New Members CPSI and Sunquest to Support and Advance Interoperability Initiatives

July 24, 2013—CommonWell Health Alliance today announced that Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (CPSI) and Sunquest Information Systems have joined as the newest members of the organization. They join members Allscripts, athenahealth, Cerner, Greenway Medical Technologies and McKesson and service provider RelayHealth in the Alliance’s work. CommonWell Health Alliance Founding Members Submit Comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

April 22, 2013—To help advance interoperability and health information exchange of health care data, the founding members of the CommonWell Health Alliance submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, reinforcing their commitment to collaborate with health IT suppliers and leverage existing standards and supplement only where needed. We emphasized the importance of creating an open forum for secure patient data exchange and removing data access barriers.
