In our newest round of CommonWell TV interviews, we asked about a perpetually hot topic, FHIR. While CommonWell has been using FHIR since its inception, soon, CommonWell will be enabling discrete data exchange via FHIR across its network.
I was first diagnosed with Lyme disease when I was seven years old. No one knew at the time that this diagnosis would be the start of nearly two decades of illness, of new diagnoses, and of managing my health. I have always been more than my illness, but my experience living with chronic illness has shaped my life and my identity. It’s also inspired me to use my voice to share my story and to empower others to do the same, whether they have a chronic illness or not.
CommonWell has proven experience breaking down traditional silos to build a pretty good-looking dragon, but we are still working to find that missing piece to make it breathe fire. Learn more and check out other end-of-year reflections from our Executive Director in our newest blog.

As an organization built around the idea that the patient should be at the center of their health care, CommonWell is philosophically directly aligned with ONC’s Information Blocking rule—which recently went into effect.
